CMP getting 99,000 more Garands

Picked up (locally) this Springfield Armory '65 rebuild on Saturday. It's sweet.
Deals are out there but you have to look.

With a '64 barrel showing a TE - <2/ME - 0 I think anything under $1,300 - $1,400 is a good price on something like this. About the only incorrect parts were the hammer, dates a couple years later than the serial on the receiver and the gas plug ('54-55).
 
Dang you must have a lot of really old guns!

I have a pretty extensive collection of milsurps, but only a Marlin lever 30-30, an Enfield, and a beautiful Military .22 pistol in my birth year.. I need more. A Garand would be a great addition!!

So I would estimate 2019 being a banner year for the cmp. There is a ton of work involved in getting all those rifles ready. I still would love a Winchester special or a. .308 special. I should of bought one when I was there last year. Heck I had the win special in my hands!
