My newest acquisition, thanks to TruPrep; 1974 Colt Combat Commander .38 Super. Scratch one from the bucket list!

All original, smooth wood grips, Coltguard nickel finish.

Plan on dropping it off with John Harrison for:
All new ignition parts and 3.5lb trigger
Beavertail grip safety
YoBo Retro rear sight (or similar)
Tritium front sight
Trimmed down, ambi-safety
Straight MSH

Then off to Robar for front strap stippling, high hand cut, and complete NP3.

A friend of mine has a Kimber in .38 Super. I like Colt better, but my comment is for the .38 Super. It's an impressive round and fun to shoot.

Nice pick up!

I can't shoot the gun well the way it is, as the hammer bites the crap out of me on these stock Combat Commanders.

Sights are difficult to see in reduced light.

Can't stand an arched MSH; cause me to hit high when point shooting.

Sometimes a decent trigger job can be done on the factory parts, but I'm pretty snobby when it comes to 1911 triggers. If I wanted, "Eh.....good enough", I'd carry my G19.

I will carry this gun for self-defense.

Anybody wants to "save" this one.......everything I own is for sale..........
