Get ready for a lot more incidents of gun violence with the "Guns Everywhere" bill that our state legislature passed. On campuses, in schools, in bars (because drunk people and guns are a GREAT idea)... and police won't even be able to ask gun carriers if they have a permit for the gun in their possession. It won't be permitted under this law. Way to hamstring law enforcement, Georgia legislature! This law does nothing for responsible, educated gun owners. It only empowers idiots who will place all of our lives in danger.

All i'm gonna say is Columbus is changed for the worse... after 2 attempted home invasions myself... I moved away.

My experience with "News Leader 9" and "Ledger Inquire" is they have to be vague when reporting any story... the city is divided and moving in a bad direction. At least once a month a similar story pops up....

CSU spokesman John Lester said campus police at 2:35 p.m. were told a man at the Courtyard 1 North apartment complex was putting bullets into a gun, and officers confronted the suspect minutes later.They chased him to where he turned the corner of a building, faced the officers and raised his arm, so they shot him, Lester said.

According to attorney Stacey Jackson, a spokesman for the Flint family, three witnesses said Flint was running away when he was shot.

"The three witnesses that I spoke to said Mr. Flint was running away, and he didn’t have any type of weapon in either of his hands while running," Jackson said Sunday night.

A man killed by Columbus State University police Sunday afternoon was shot twice - once in the back and once in the back of the neck - according to the Muscogee County Coroner’s Office.

Though he has declined to discuss details of the shooting, CSU Police Chief Rus Drew said Monday afternoon “a gun was recovered with the suspect.”

A gun was found with the victim. Isn't that what our Georgia Legislators want? More guns on campuses, in our churches and bars; guns on everyone? Wasn't this the very intent of the recent "sweeping" gun legislation. Legislation the people did NOT want but the gun lobbyists did. This is going to happen more than less, now. I imagine those legislators who were "celebrating" the successful passage of this bill are probably the same ones who will simply shrug at those who become the "collateral damage" of their legislation. They need to rename the bill to "The Georgia Lining the Pockets of the Gun Lobby" bill. Just sayin.....
