How do i get into competition shooting here in nw ga?

Where in NW GA are you? If close enough to TN Cleveland Hunting Rifle and Pistol club holds IDPA

I am in rome ga. I've never shot in any pistol competition but i want to start. Everyone started somewhere. Thinking of getting a glock 17 to shoot in stock division would that be a good choice?
What type of handgun do you own now? Do you Everyday Day Carry it? I suggest coming out to a competition if you have never been to one. There are always a lot of gun enthusiasts there and will help guide you thru the process and help you understand the RULES and the stages.
GA Firing Line in Marietta on Canton Rd does IDPA there on Thursdays. Not sure if that every Thursday or not.
I believe it is every Thursday. Also Big woods goods in Canton has a uspsa match every Thursday night and a bowling pin match every other Monday.

I currently edc a s&w bodyguard .380, before it i carried a s&w 642. And i plan on checking some of these places out beford i dive in
