Computer help needed

Have done that several times. the computer shuts off my accessories (mouse, key board, screen) at random times. Just started this a few days ago now getting worse.

I'll try that. It's a lap top with a battery that I keep pluged in here at my desk.
It's old Gateway and I think k it's dieing.

If it is a Gateway it is really old and probably has outlived its useful lifespan.
Gateway sold out to Acer in October 2007.
Not worth trying to fix. You need a new one.

Try to backup/restore date. Restore to date before troubles started.

Agree with Redneck1919 you are already on borrowed time. Time for an upgrade!

It's gone kaput it sounds like. I'm guessing since it's an old Gateway it's on Windows XP or Vista at the latest? Probably all drivers out of date, and not supported anymore. Even if you had upgraded to Windows 7 or later the hardware requirements would barely be able to handle it. I'd say it's probably time for an upgrade.

You all are probably right. I can't drive any more so am stuck here at the house. I'm willing to get a new one but need help getting it and transferring data.
