Considering RV rental for Grand Canyon Trip. School me…….

We've visited the Grand Canyon.
Flew into Phoenix, drove up thru Sedona area, spent the night in Williams, AZ (Rt 66), visited the Canyon, then circled up thru UT and after a few nights we dropped the car rental & flew home from Vegas

Grand is great to visit, but Zion is where you want to stay/camp. Yeah, they are a few miles apart, but trust me when I tell you that Zion is not to be missed, and much more accessible.
Zion is one of my favs hands down!

It is so much more accessible, and being able to be in it instead of looking over it (like Grand) is soul-lifting. With Brice nearby, there is another spot not to be missed within an easy drive.

I love it out there and would consider living there, if not for the crazy liberal leadership.

If you're looking to do that kind of trip, figure out the cost beforehand. I had a smaller driving RV and it got less than 10 mi. to the gallon, with a 50 gal. tank. Add that to the rental, and you may find other ways to get there will do you better.

I forgot about the MPG... 10 mpg, would be terrible. At 10mpg, and about 200 gallons of gas, that puts you around $600 dollars for fuel, at $3.00 dollars a gallon. Not to mention 3 full days of driving.

Bryce is awesome as well👍🏻

@ 2 years ago, we looked into this when my daughter was temporarily assigned near Reno NV.

14-day round trip -ATL. to LV.
Gas Money - 2000 x 2 = 4000/12mpg =@ 333 gal. x @ $ 3.00 = $ 999.00
Rental Mileage = 4000 (less free @ 100 miles per day) = 2600 x .39 (.29-.59 average) = $ 1,014.00
Nightly Renal (150.00 - 325.00) $ 150.00 x 14 = $ 2,100.00

Not including any additional supplemental Ins. (break down/mechanical or Comp/Coll.)
Not including any overnight fees.

Basic - $ 4,113.00 / 14 = 225.00 per day
