Coweta County: Road rage suspect points gun at car, police let him go...

pon·tif·i·cate
verb
gerund or present participle: pontificating
pänˈtifiˌkāt/
  1. 1.
(in the Roman Catholic Church) officiate as bishop, especially at Mass.
  2. 2.
express one's opinions in a way considered annoyingly pompous and dogmatic.

Didn't know you copy and pasted the same thing from PM to here or I'd have just responded here.

"Brandishing" is a catch all phrase that anti gun idjits love to use whenever they have no real law broken to arrest us with. Thus it is for PERsecution, not PROSecution. It get's my dander up when I see ANYONE, but especially one of US adopting the language and precepts of the liberals. It's like some people feel about the term assault rifle, or high capacity magazine. Terms made up to stigmatize things that have no meaning. Brandishing is a meaningless term. Unless you are POINTING a gun at someone(assault with a deadly weapon) then you are doing nothing illegal...just being stupid. Apparently this guy was not only raging, he was extremely stupid. But, "a documented case of brandishing"? Nope.

There we go.

Amazes that so many people here automatically assume that this mere moments in time might possibly show an entire story.

Cops did the right thing here with what is known at this time.

Anyone even care to consider that maybe the automobile driver (read deadly weapon) might have been trying to hurt the rider?

I know most everyone here is in GA, but for those of us in SC it's called "Pointing a Firearm At A Person". Presenting it without actually pointing it counts too.

SECTION 16-23-410. Pointing firearm at any person.

It is unlawful for a person to present or point at another person a loaded or unloaded firearm.

A person who violates the provisions of this section is guilty of a felony and, upon conviction, must be fined in the discretion of the court or imprisoned not more than five years. This section must not be construed to abridge the right of self-defense or to apply to theatricals or like performances.

HISTORY: 1962 Code Section 16-141; 1952 Code Section 16-141; 1942 Code Section 1119; 1932 Code Section 1119; Cr. C. '22 Section 17; Cr. C. '12 Section 162; 1910 (26) 694; 1993 Act No. 184, Section 46.

I drive a route freight truck for 8 hours a day and I see people doing stupid stuff all day. If I had a dollar for every time I was cut off or people pissing me off. I'd be A multi millionaire. You have to keep a cool head. I'm used to it. But would I pull a gun on someone. NO. I love my train horns though.

You ever bring me stuff?
