Coyote at close range?

There are colibri and also super colibri. I don't know the stats on either, but we shoot the supers out of rifles. They won't cycle in my CMMG AR, but CCI quiets will.

As he wishing to make a purchase, this job clearly requires a Winchester 52 in the 28" barrel. Compare your 22 target ammo to a single buckshot for interesting interest.

Personally if noise is an issue, I’d run the heavy cci suppressor ammo in 22lr. It’s a 45grain hp and should be plenty for that range and works pretty well. I wouldn’t recommend the colbri stuff….yes it’s quiet but you’d be better off using a 25cal airgun with slugs. Otherwise the 17hmr/22wmr/22hornet would be great.

Several years ago I shot a coon in the head at point blank with a 38 S&W. The 146grn LRN @ ~675fps didn’t penetrate the skull or kill it. The 22lr 36grn hp finished the job….. last time I took the lemon squeezer on the trap line. All 5 bullets were just under the hide when I skinned it.

I’ve taken one out in my back yard with a 22WMR outta my CZ455. No one said they heard the pop but my neighbor 2 houses away. He knew what it was but he’s also retired leo
Bout 25yrd shot. Shooting for the head caught him in the neck…made about two flip flops and drt

.25 to .30 caliber air rifle is your best option, I have multiple subdivisions in north Georgia I control coyotes populations. All the energy expelled pretty quickly and takes them down on the spot head, neck and shoulder shot placement. I run a FX impact air rifle and it's dead accurate out to 100 yards with hollow point slugs. A lot of my locations do not want any firearms so this air rifle fits that well, tried crossbow years ago and it worked until coyotes would run off squalling causing homeowners to be concerned. Watch out for animal lovers they will be out lol.

How much does one of your air set ups run? What would you recommend on a budget?
