I panic Everytime I see one. They are so ugly I panic that more companies are going to follow suit and make their guns ugly with a absolutely no character, no flare and just a block you slam a magazine into the bottom. I am not against a polymer gun, it's not my first pic but they will go bang. I just can't figure why someone long ago said " Lets make the ugliest gun on the market and sell it for 600 bucks. We will market the hell out them and the general public are foolish and will eat them up. ". All the upper management were setting around the table and agreed that making a gun that is attractive is passe. Here here!
Read about Gaston Glocks start in tbe firearms world. It’s pretty amazing.

The primary concern when designing a firearm should be flair. Look at Kimber for instance. The bestest! Why? They focus on flare, really gets those that pick their firearms with the main concern of function all flared up. I mean, who doesn't just buy firearms for an Insta pic?
First you know me I have got to provoke the masses. That aside how much effort would it take when making the initial molds would have taken to shape a line here, alter a look there. It just looks like they could have done better.

Now all that aside they are a hell of a handgun and possible the most reliable handgun made but that's no fun. When I buy a handgun I have to be intrigued by the look or I will not give it a second look. That's why I love the Canik Rival and the S&W 2.0 Performance Center Pro 10 mm. Those handguns look aggressive and attractive and I would buy one of those over a Glock any day of the year.

Those two guns are just examples I can think of off the top of my head. But who the hell am I. If I was a operator I would probably have a completely different outlook about the Glock.

It was designed as a service pistol, and they executed that perfectly.

Gaston set out to design a reliable and durable handgun that was as cheap and easy to manufacture as possible. Adding any aesthetic or performance aspects would make it more expensive. That being said, I think everyone agrees we'd rather the gun cost 50 more bucks and come with better sights.....

He accomplished all goals when the Glock 17 was produced. There is an anecdote that when he marketed it to another country (could have been the US, not sure) that his pistol was dismissed because he offered it so cheap they did not think a gun that costs so little by comparison would be reliable or durable enough.

I agree they definitely hit the mark when they made that gun. And even though it's probably one of the most reliable and urban ergonomic pistols out there I just can't seem to bring myself to buy one. The price on the guns are extremely reasonable for what you get. And I really can't say anything bad about the guns except the way they look. When it comes right down to it looks doesn't do anything. A 1000 dollar snazzy pistol doesn't defend you any better or even close to what a Glock can do so there is that to be said about it.

I likely would've never had one. I'd didn't buy it, it was issued to me. After extensive usage and training with it, I decided it wasn't so bad. Still have my reservations. But in peace time, it is a good weapon
