I'm looking to find a gunsmith to give a quote on cutting down a 26" 20ga barrel to 20" or 22" and rethreaded for chokes. I've read lots of folks say not to since the stoeger barrels are chrome lined it may cause flaking in the lining as well as people saying I may not be able to have it rethreaded. Just curious as to if anyone has experience or can point me in the direction of some helpful knowledge and a quote.

Briley charges $95 to cut, crown and reinstall the bead.
$329 to thread for thin wall chokes (3) that are compatible with Tungsten.
With shipping charges both ways expect at least $500 total :(

Check with Midwest Gunworks for a shorter replacement barrel which normally are in the $250 price range.

That's the bad part is I did and none are available. I guess I'll look around online for a barrel compared to going the route of cutting.
