If true then I am done. Destroying guns for a totalitarian regime doesn't sit well with me.

It appears they have contract Colt Canada (Owned by CZ Firearms) to destroy the initial batch of >12,000 firearms confiscated from Canadian businesses and likely the follow up circa 500-600,000 firearms captured under the various OIC bands

As Canadian gun owners we need every gun owner worldwide to object as strongly as possible to this.

Colt Canada is practically the only organization in Canada that can do this work. Convincing them to not do it would vastly increase the complexity and cost of storing, transporting and destroying these firearms. Just exporting them to the USA would easily add 50% to the costs. This further encourages the likelihood of the programmes cancellation as it is currently increasingly unpopular with the public.

If it's mandated by law that these guns be destroyed and for practical reasons only a firearms company has the high security facilities needed to receive & store these guns pending destruction...

... and gun companies have the expert knowledge to verify that the guns have really been destroyed and not just scratched or bent by being run over with a bulldozer ...I don't mind any company taking the bid to do this job.

It's an ugly job, but under Canadian law somebody's got to do it --- and your company might as well get the contract and make a little profit
off of the government's stupidity.

The guns are gonna be wasted anyway.....

Anyone with an angle grinder or a metal saw can cut a frame or receiver in half.

I've seen people do it on Youtube.

Once that's done, it's just scrap iron.
