I'm considering buying the 1/2x28 adapter for my Wolverine to run on my AK-V. I know this can is slightly overbored, and when I use the SilencerCo adapter for it and run my alignment rod, it passes through no problem and is concentric. I just want to use the DA adapter so I can engage the front detent to keep it locked.

My question is, if my alignment rod passes through without issues, can I get away with it? I understand this is for rifle caliber and all but it would be right at home on my AK-V.

Someone on the tube has already done it with success. Just want the ODT collective's input.

You can but I would not, pressure wise you’re perfectly fine but they talked about this on one of their live Q&As and said that while some may they’re not all guaranteed to work allowing a 9 to pass and they advised against it

Got it. I'll have to find that Q&A while I'm out of town. I'm thinking I might have to give it a shot when I get home regardless because my brain doesn't like to leave "what ifs" floating around. I'm thinking I'll disassemble the adapter and see if I can drop a 9mm bullet through the first baffle. All subsequent baffles are larger to accommodate concentricity issues on the AK platform, so the first one is all I'm worried about. If I can get this to work, I'll probably leave it permanently attached. I really like it on my JRA Galil but it looks the part on the SBR 9mm AK. If I use the 1/2x28 adapter, not only will it stay put because of the detent, but it will also align using the face of the barrel so it should mount and stay put. I know pressure won't be anywhere near what it's intended for and running subs will even out for the actual firearm. 🤞it works or I'm going to have to spend 50% and a new stamp for another one.

I say go with a 9mm can, but that's more because the wolverine is heavy and narrow. There are lighter 9mm cans with more internal volume that perform better. I love my Wolfman for 9mm pccs, but even it can be beaten. Ab F4, ocl whatever they call their 9mm, rex silentium (which often goes on my AKs when I want a lighter can than my wolverine)

As the old saying goes... you can do anything (at least) once. It's a can designed for 7.62mm projectiles... you're proposing to put 9mm projectiles through it. You're asking for baffle strike(s).

The Wolverine does have a bigger hole than most 7.62 suppressors to compensate for the non-concentric threads that most AK's have. Not sure if it's bigger than 9mm though. If it is then you'd have to make damn sure that the threads are concentric on the 9mm AK.

All this to say, just get a 9mm suppressor like a Lithium or Obsidian 9.

Technically it is written as being a 7.62 can but I believe even the first baffle is oversized and they are progressively larger as it goes down the tube. If a 9mm alignment rod can pass through with no obstruction, wouldn't that be telling if it would work fine? I mean the science behind these things is pretty simple round surface area going through a round hole.

I've got a caliper in my tool box. When I get home this Thursday, I'll measure the first baffle opening and compare against 9mm (obvious size).

Okay, got home this morning. Grabbed my can and a dummy round.
Not only does the 9mm pass through the first baffle, but the casing does too, up to the rim.
