Deciding which gear ration to go with?

We need some pics :pop2:

Ida went in the low 3s with a turbo 350. That 383 has plenty of torque for the task .

323 or 342 at the most . Then you woulda still had a good cruisng speed without it winding up the rpm's .

Of course the 391 will keep you in a mid-range rpm for a pouncng good time :0)

Yeah
Your top speed with 28 inch tires and a 4.11 is gonna be about 50

Good excuse to install a TH700 transmission or some taller back tires though

With 28s I would have gone 3.50 or 3.08

I have a bronco with 4.11 and when it was stock with 28 tires the engine was screaming at 55

I lifted it and ran 33s and now 35 inch tires

The K5 blazers and K10 pickups came with 3.08 with the TH350 trans and 3.73 with the TH700 OD trans

That won’t be quite as bad

Once you burn off the back tires
Of you could cram some taller ones in that would be even better

Speed limit everywhere I would drive it in this county is 45 or less. 55 or higher would be stop light to stop light only. :thumb:

At least a 4.00 or higher gear. The problem with less gear is you ride around and the torque converter does not lock and creates heat in the transmission.
