Look at the charts.Ain`t much difference between the .270 and the 7 mag,depending on the load.Just that the .270 is more pleasant to shoot.Haven`t hunted with mine in a few years,but used 130 gr.Win.powerpoints.Cheap at Wally,more accurate than the premiums,at least in my rifle.Wife got her first deer with it.

Here's what a .270 Sierra Game King SPBT 130 grain 2900 FPS will do to a small doe at 100 yards. This bullet went through it's open mouth and severed the brain stem. Clean shot. Instant kill. Deer dropped like a stone. I know it's small. I like to get one like this each year for some good tender meat. Head shot is imperative on one this size if you want to preserve ALL the meat.
