I got a stall mat to go under my safe from tractor supply. They are cheap (get little one) and just cut to the size of your safe. I'm just using desiccant in the white bags that I got from work. I wish now that I haven't given 7 pounds of it to a buddy to help keep his VW bug's interior dry.

ask your wife for some old pantyhose and fill them with rice about 4 or 5 cups worth in each foot tie them off and cut them put them in the safe and change them about every 6 to 8 months you can do the same thing in smaller volume for your ammo cans I've been doing it for years and never had an issue with moisture or rust and my safe is in the basement as well
