Deutz 1011F Engine Specialist

Any idea why the engine would keep jumping time with a new belt and idler pulley with correct tension using a gauge? The engine was rebuilt top to bottom and runs great but jumped time twice when trenching with the Vermeer. The first time we blamed it on the new oil pump seizing up. It ran for 20 minutes while we were replacing the hood panels the engine sounded like it hit a brick wall and shut down. When I removed the timing belt after putting the pins in a realizing it was out of time, I tried to turn the oil pump and it had locked up with a clean engine and oil. The second time it jumped time after three hours of run time while digging the ditch. We are scratching our heads now.
