DICK's sporting goods east cobb

well, Cabelas is 4 miles from the house(when it opens) so I will probably not go to the new Dick's in East Cobb, not that I would have anyways, they never have what I am looking for and the staff are dangerously inept.

I'm about 2 miles away from there and no sporting goods stores nearby. Sports Authority at Acres Mill sucks and the Dicks on Barrett Pkwy is too far away. With all the emphasis on youth sports around here, I was surprised to see how few stores carry sports equipment in the area.

I heard the Dick's rumor about a month and a half ago...where did you hear that it is a done deal?

Now I'm understanding the general responses in here, thanks for filling me in...

A lot of folks don't know about it, it's something they keep quiet about.

They made a huge stink in the media about pulling all AR-style guns from their stores after Newtown. They almost bankrupted Troy Defense, who had invested millions to become their 'house brand'. They also stiffed thousands of customers who had bought Troy rifles on a 'Black Friday' sale, holding on to their pre-order money for a month or more until they finally cancelled their orders.

Then, when the 'gun panic' happened and they had no inventory to sell at a huge markup, they moved all the ARs they had to their new 'Field and Stream" stores so they wouldn't be caught in a lie.

Of course they were, so they ended up putting all the guns back into regular stores as well, mainly because there were so few F&S stores open that they couldn't cash-in with such a limited distribution network.

All in all, probably one of the more hypocritical episodes of the recent 'gun-ban panic'.
