Urea is a technical word for piss. Most is synthetic, but it’s still just piss.Urea is used in DEF and Russia is a major exporter of fertilizer used in DEF. Specifically to China, which is the major exporter of DEF.
1/3 of the trucking industry falls under the EPA rules requiring DEF. Which is any diesel truck post 2010. DEF is is a mixture of 32.5% Ammonia and the rest is Distilled water. So one could technically make their own. Truckers have used Windshield washer fluid that contains ammonia until they can get some DEF.
If there's not enough fluid, the NOX sensor detects the amount of NOX being released and puts the truck in Limp Mode. I'm wondering if there's a way to bypass the sensor?
