I'm new to reloading and need some help. I loaded 10 rounds today and fired them. the brass was discolored on one side / greyish. I'm shooting 9mm 115 gr JHP with 5.6gr lower end vn350 powder overall length of bullet is 1.150
What could be causing my brass to be discolored?
Thanks Ron

Should I increase my load, little at a time, as long as I don't go past the max?

NO, you should increase your loss into you see pressure signs that you've gone to far. It really doesn't matter what the book says max is...Just cause it might be max in their test barrel doesn't mean it's max in your barrel. Your barrel could max out much less

Is it severe? Does your pistol shoot well with this load?

You may bump it up a bit, see if it changes? Maybe play with seating depth? If it ain't severe and the pistol shoots well, I'd shoot it.

Discoloration is not a anything to worry about. It does result from low pressure loads that do not inflate -- obturate -- the case enough to seal it against the chamber walls. Some gas just blows buy.

You can bump it, but I would not exceed the book max load.

Tite Group is a popular powder that has a reputation foe turning brass purple.

I increased my load a little at a time until I reached reached 6.2
Changed seating depth, till my cartridge measured 1.142
Seems to have fixed my problem.
Shoots tighter groups, also.
Thanks Ron
