I’ve never seen any Osage orange that looked like that. It is green and looks like little worms on it

BIKER13 for the win. Also called Hedge. The wood is absolutely beautiful when turned and burned. Makes great duck calls.

It's not bois d'arc. Not even in the same Family. It's invasive. I guess it's not surprising that hogs will clean up the fruit. I suspect the major mode of spreading is flooding because you see it mostly in large creek bottoms, even areas where hogs are rare.

Interesting is you can graft cold-ish hardy citrus and make it cold hardy-er even though it's not actually a citrus plant.

I have only seen one osage tree in my life and the hedge apples were close to the ground, see ya'll figgered it out
