In Macon my home is referred to by family and friends as "Rorke's Drift."

All my grandkids refer to our place as "the country", or "the farm". Them being from the city, I try to teach them as much as I can when they visit, so they can do for themselves when necessary and not have to rely on someone else.

My parents rented a house on 3 acres surrounded by 300 acres of pasture when we were kids. It was FANTASTIC!

Oh man! Is it the sign itself that is rotting or the posts? There is a builder supply place here in rockmart that has tons of sawmill slabs. They have some nice live edge stuff I actually just picked up a 12 foot slab of live edge pine to make a bench by the fire pit for the kids.

What is the name of the place in Rockmart?
