Do you want to end comments in the classifieds?

Well comments are just that comments, why does it matter if someone is still able to sell their weapon/ammo/etc?

Some people take things to seriously and get pissy when things were meant as a joke. Honestly who cares if they are able to get more exposure on their product via the comments?

Most of the new members here came here for one reason and one reason only.....an existing member told them about a place to sell/buy guns on an individual basis. They have the right to post whatever price they like and people should be able to make whatever comment they like especially if even negative/positive comments roll the product back to the top of the feed.

The world is too PC as it is

Lets socialize the site even more and allow appropriation committees decide of what is good and bad for the collective group.. sounds like a plan.. lol ;)

Or we could just enforce the rules of the site regarding classified threads:

From the site rules said:
Do not make negative comments in other people’s threads. Repeat offenders will be temporarily banned and then permanently banned. It gets really old reminding the same users over and over to keep their comments to themselves. Everyone is allowed to ask whatever price they want for their items and it is their problem if no one wants it for that price. Also, do not hijack people's listings. If the post starter is actively participating in the conversation in their own listing that is fine. If you have activity that is unwanted in your listing please contact a moderator to clean it up for you. (Posting a factual problem with the ad is fine and not considered a negative comment, an example is someone listing a Glock for sale but they have a picture of a Sig) ***This rule has been expanded to include popcorn smilies, sarcastic GLWS comment, etc.

Is it really that hard for people to respect the few rules OS has established for the site which no one is under any obligation to pay anything to use?

Word! I don't agree with all the stuff GON did with their classifieds but I sure as hell understand it.

My goal is to never turn off comments in the classifieds, but I'll have no choice if no one has any self control.

My thoughts exactly! Either you agree with "free market capitalism" or you don't! Nobody is forcing you to buy an over-priced procuct. The beauty of the free market is the right of the buyer to walk away. If you list a plain old Glock for $900 and nobody pays you any attention, you will lower your price or keep your gun! GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

if it means I never have to hear the term "free market capitalism" again (yeah, 20, 000 laws regulating an economy is freedom) then shut them off.

I agree with Hoss in the fact that comments can be beneficial in the classifieds. But on the other side it can also be detrimental. The fact of the matter is we (ODT community) are a very passionate group of people that hate to see the path we are going down. It is natural for people to want to speak up when they see something that is adding to the hysteria (i.e. high prices, etc...). We just need to realize (like Steve said) that if you leave it alone, it will just go away. Remember in school when that one kid would pick on you and your parents told you to just ignore him and he would leave you alone. What happened when you did? That tubby pimple face little demon lost interest and moved on to something different.
