What is well armed? IMO it's an Ohio-Class Nuclear Submarine that can carry 24 Trident II submarine-launched ballistic missiles (SLBMs) which can be fired from underwater to strike at targets more than seven thousand miles away. What can that do? As a Trident II ballistic missile reenters the atmosphere at speeds of up to Mach 24, it splits into up to eight independent reentry vehicles, each with either a 100 or 475 kiloton nuclear warhead. In short, a full "high capacity" firing from an Ohio-class submarine—which can be launched in less than one minute—could unleash up to 192 nuclear warheads to wipe twenty-four geographically dispersed cities off the map. President Trump deployed two of them conveniently closer to Russia this month... But what about the full size pistol with 2 extra loaded mags? A revolver or even an AR? Well, "any port in a storm". Something always beats nothing. But the best solution? Try moving to either a good neighborhood or rural area - you'll tremendously lower your risk exposure to nearly all violent crime.

A LOT of great comments, insights on this thread. Some not so much. Best thought is carry what your comfortable with based on experiences, current mindset, current skill level. It’s personal so who cares what others do? I will add that every single time I teach a course, several folks say: “ I’ve never thought of that, I’ve never seen that before, I didn’t know that was possible” etc So this brings us back to the above ….current capabilities ??? I’ve written, tested, and implemented undercover lesson plans, concealed carry trainings, on/off duty issues for LEO’s, hand to hand skills, and much more…. All for DOJ, NSW, Army CID, FLETC, State of GA Post, and privately. Final thoughts… don’t limit yourself to what you think you know, probably more out there… I’ve done U/C work while armed only with a 5-shot, as well as auto pistol with spare mag. >>>>>>> But you can bet I KNEW THE DIFFERENCE <<<<<<<< lol

Knew the difference in my ability to fight back, defend myself, etc. I knew that quick wit, maybe even looking weak, etc…..waiting for an opening to engage (only if necessary) then to run like the wind! Or Choose to be a better witness as opposed to a participant

Not sure what you asking??? Maybe…. I knew that carrying a 5 shot is/was well armed/sufficient at times, likewise carrying a multi round autoloader with spare mags wasn’t armed enough ??? Thats my point of knowing your capabilities and your environment

And for the inevitable arguments coming from those that insist on regularly lugging multiple 17-rd reloads, to have dinner with their wife at the Olive Garden, why not wear a trench coat, over a full load-bearing tactical vest, with multiple 30-rd mags,and a Draco AK hanging from each shoulder?
