Dress code for open carry

I open carry and conceal carry. in the winter i open carry all the time, b/c i usually have a t-shirt on, and then a jacket or flanel shirt over it. So, it is open, but it's also concealed. in the summer, it is usally open if it is hot. I don't dress up. but jeans and a shirt. sometimes it's shorts, and a cut off t shirt untucked covering the open carry.

I don't open carry for all the reasons mentioned. I'll always try to give myself every tactical advantage and will cheat or lie in a gun fight. As mentioned we all are stewards for the right to keep and "bear" arms. Conduct yourself as professional and in most cases you will most likely be treated as such. Open carry scares the sheeple and no need to spook the herd if it's not warranted.

What he said....

When ever I see someone openly carrying a pistol it is a cheap pos in a huge nylon holster and they look like complete idiots drawing attention. They are normally just hanging off some bums sweat pants or on a sagging belt. I carry a p7 in a bianchi 19l frequently but have it covered with a jacket or shirt atleast. It stays tight to my body and looks sexy.

Ditto on the amount of doufus's open carrying. Everytime I see someone open carrying in my store that isn't a LEO, they are a complete idiot and don't have a good simple answer when I ask why do you open carry? (My store, my place to ask)

Open carry for me is a last resort or if I'm perhaps exploring in my Jeep on the fire service roads or on my buddy's 200 acres cutting trees/trail. 99% of the time I've got something in my pocket, ankle or shoulder rig (winter time)

They do not even say "because I want to" or "because it is more comfortable" or "because I can"???

Why is it that most of the folks who prefer to conceal carry, call the folks that prefer to open carry, derogatory names, and point fingers?

Why can't they just look at it as another method of carry?

For the record, I am about 50% open and 50% concealed here in Coweta County.

I think part of the problem with open carry is the type of people I see carrying openly. At Kroger the other day I saw 2 people carrying large autos on their sides. One was a middle aged gentleman dressed in what I considered to be conservative clothes. He had a nice pull-over with jeans and a light jacket. I didn't think twice about it. The other appeared to be in his early 20's with a 3 week beard, raggy baggy pants, and was just generally unkempt. My first thought was "Oh crap, that ain't gonna go over well." This mentality of not pre-judging is rediculous. It is human nature to do so. Therefore I say if you want to open carry, at least appear to be competant enough to do so. I carry open and concealed depending on where I am going but I always try to consider what goes through other peoples heads when they see me. I want to give people a good impression of gun owners by letting them feel comfortable around me and others who carry.
