You may want to look at wrecks. There are plenty of F-250's with 7.3L diesels in them. Look at http://copart.com. I bought two excursions 3 years ago and made one. It has 187,000 miles on it now and is still just fine. I found another one last spring with 75,000 on it so I bought it and we are building it now. My mechanic works on it when he is slow, so this one is taking a while.
If you want to make this effort, you will need a guy that knows how to deal with wrecked vehicles and understands how to get them titled correctly. This is a picture of the one I bought this past spring. Feel free to PM me if you have questions.
