Eliminating Georgia's weapons "license" - For God's sake people, do it!

I don't see the point in rewarding them for not doing their jobs...maybe I'm missing something...

It's not to reward them. It's so that they know you personally and your words carry more weight. It's politicing.[/QUOTE]

i think it makes them think you believe their bs and you believe they are on your side....in reality, they are own their own side...unless you are giving them money to get re-elected your words mean nothing to them...

I'm all about Constitutional Carry.......but don't forget, giving up your GWCL......puts you at the mercy of the FBI, NICS every time you purchase a firearm here in Georgia. I do enough of these each week to know that even the best of citizens, sometimes get delayed.....and then it sucks to have to wait 3 business days to pick up your firearm. There are many FFL Dealers that still accept your GWCL as your FBI NICS check......just sayin!!

the gwl would not go away, it would be an option, not a requirement :)

I consider the GWCL a VIP Card for bypassing the background check BS.

I bought a rifle in Alabama last week. Literally 10 minutes from my house in GA but it took them 10-15 minutes to run the check and come back so I could pay them and leave.

In Georgia, by the time I've filled out the 4473, I'm pretty much ready to pay and leave.

I'd say your words would "mean the most" to them in this order: large campaign contributor> local acquaintance>random stranger email

Besides, it doesn't hurt to know the guy or gal that is representing you.

i heard it said best today...our so-called representatives do everything they can to NOT hear us (voters)...the only thing they willingly hear is money...

which is why there should be national constitutional carry...at this point we don't even have national reciprocity...

I don't disagree.....but I live in the Real World, and you know that will NEVER happen in our lifetime, nor our children's lifetime....and probably never at all. It would take every state, to become so "pro gun" or so "pro 2nd amendment" in order for this to happen........California?? New York?? New Jersey?? etc. etc. etc.
