If you're feeling adventurous, try Elk burgers. Really delicious, but you have to do about 60/40 with good ground beef since it's so lean...Luckily we have Finley's Butcher Shop up here and can get just about any game meats...

Yeah, that's the bad part...$15/lb. We usually do these twice a year maybe...

Ground bacon makes a good fat filler too. Elk has amazing flavor.

Considering what it takes to get it, $15/lb sounds reasonable. I'm told an Elk will kill you just for fun.

For me it's $5 a lb by the time you factor in the tag, travel, and misc expenses.
