ok so i just recently acquired my first handgun with rails, and decided maybe i wanted to get a flashlight for it. i have been looking and finding some in the 30 to 70 dollar range. i figure that would be enough to get something basic to fiddle with the idea. anyone got any good suggestions about pricing and where to buy at? also what to buy would be helpful lol

Why are you willing to spend $70 on a questionable weapon light when you could spend $30 more and get yourself a Streamlight TLR-1S which has an extremely solid reputation. The Streamlight TLR-1 and TLR-1S can be had for $90-$100 if you shop around. Their reputation is up there Surefire and in my opinion they are better because their price point is lower for a product that is on par with the Surefire X300. I actually prefer the TLR-1S to the X300 from Surefire.

Have you fired at least 500 rounds with that NC Star light attached? There are plenty of reviews of them not making it past 50 or so before the light started to flicker and die. It is not all about having 200 lumens or strobe settings. Quality is key.
