Not the wife, but an older lady friend, we take her to dinner occasionally.
Ask where she would like to eat it’s ‘anywhere, I eat everything’.
Then it’s 10 minutes of suggestions followed by ‘I don’t eat/don’t like that’.
Don’t know why we bother to ask, always end up at one of the same two places.

my wife would eat at every one of them. 40 miles traveling gives her an appetite. But don't mention she looks 9 months pregnant or she'll order a diet coke instead of water with lemon.

When I say I don't care I mean I don't care. Ill sit in the driveway until everyone looks up from their phones and makes a decision. I am just as happy or happier finding something in the house. We have cabinets and two freezers full of food. I can find something that doesn't have to be thawed. Im going to eat in a few hours its not a big deal to me. Ill also eat lunch at the same restaurant everyday because it means I don't have to decide where to go.
