EV's are NOT America's future!

Cause they're too expensive!

I'd like to see anyone hack into my Gen I 4Runner. You'd need a TRS80 running Fortran in Japanese or something.

Of course, my old Jeep breaks down on its own without the hacking, so...
OH yeah nobody wants to fool with that old 4Runner, I feel you on the Jeep though. I had a TJ that spent more time down than I did driving it. I was just throwing parts at it by the time I sold it. The 4.0L was solid, but everything around it was junk

Not a good argument since EVs make up such a small amount of the demand for these materials. The majority are going towards cell phones, laptops, tablets, tools, and other consumer electronics which have a much shorter lifespan than EVs and are more likely to end up in a landfill than EV batteries.

Even if every vehicle in the world were an EV, the percentage needed still wouldn’t compare.
Exactly  love how the anti EV crowd pulls the "But the children, slave labor" card as they post from a Chinese made iPhone or computer.

Reminds me of when Ricky Gervais hosted the oscars or whatever show it was, and said the same thing about how the Apple TV execs making speeches being all woke, when their company has child labor in China making their products.

If SHTF and the government shuts down vehicles, roads will be impassable to vehicles traffic and you won’t be driving 15 miles much less 1500.

In that scenario where 90% of the population has lost transportation, how long do you think you will keep you vehicle, your stored fuel, your life? Where exactly would you be needing to drive?

Pretty much any vehicle sold over the last 5 years can be remotely disabled, and many of them over the last 10.
Yeah, not sure why folks don't think their computer controlled ICE vehicle won't also be victim of an EMP or remote shutdown. I'd say any vehicle sold in the last 10 years can be remotely disabled...

You forgot one thing our environment tearing the world up for a small amount of rare elements to make these batteries ( unsustainable)
Huge deposits of these rare earth minerals have been discovered right here in America. If this ludicrous push to force everyone into battery powered vehicles continues the elements will be mined here, shipped to China for processing, then shipped back to America for manufacturing. How stupid and wasteful is that!

You mean what current American Auto makers currently do anyways? Assembled here with parts from China.

Just highlighting the fact that you're all talk when it comes to EVs. Just like John Kerry on "climate change" - you don't believe a word of it.

Carry on.........

I don't have any interest in any vehicle that costs more than about 7 grand. But unlike you I'm not gonna get hysterical over made up situations that are not reality. You seem to be unable to separate politics from the conversation.

I’ll have the option of mobility, and I have vehicles in perfect working order that are 20 years old.
