I am looking into obtaining a FFL. Anyone have any insight. What to do what not to do. Someone who has experience preferred. Do I need to consult a lawyer to ensure all paperwork is correct? It seems pretty straight forward from my readings. Submit forms, fingerprints x2 for all persons requested on license, and payment and wait no more than 60 days for approval or denial. No store front necessary, must maintain all records, only conduct business where FFL says you can, must use for more than just personal use, and consent to search at any time. Is there any fine print I'm not seeing here. Any fees besides the 3 year initial, sales tax on items sold and renewal fee every three years? Do I need a business license? it just seems to easy to be true.. All insight appreciated.
