How long does it take to get a carry license now?

Renewed mine last week. They said anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks. It's usually less.

Alright, I received it in the mail today. It took exactly 30 days to get a new (non renewal) carry license in Forsyth Co.

Doesn't state law require 30 days or less?

I remember GA Carry (aka GA2A) suing either Fulton or Dekalb for dragging their feet on permits.

Has anyone applied for a carry permit recently? How long did it take? I know GA is now "constitutional carry" but I want a carry license so I don't have to wait 20 minutes when buying from a dealer. That wait has also been getting longer for me each time (regardless of time of day). Mine expired last year and I recently moved to Forsyth co. So I'm sure it will be processed as a new application.

Maybe it will be a quicker process now that fewer people are getting them.

It all depends on what county you live in, and how busy the employees are in your courthouse. It could be as little as a week or as much as a couple months.

Bite the bullet, fill out the form at the courthouse, and get your prints done.
