I picked up a new AK recently and I'm thinking about adding Night Sights. I want to stay away from any optics on this one but I normally use a Red Dot with my other rifles. I just want to get away from batteries with this rifle. I simply don't trust them.
The thing is, I have been training really hard for the past six months and I have a Dot on my training rifle. When I took the new AK to the range this weekend for the first time, I was MUCH slower with the irons than I had expected to be.
Does anyone have experience with the Fiber Optic sights on your rifle and did it do anything to improve your speed at getting on target? I have no experience with them at all.
Largely I'm trying to get close to what a Dot does for me without having to depend on one.
Thanks.
