Finally got scammed

It's not specific to this platform.
Target rich environment. The number of reloading supplies scam sites is insane as well.
Would it be useful to report suspects? Is there a way to verify with the (real) user, that a scammer can't change?
100%. The sooner we can identify them the better. These are the hardest to catch because of the established nature of the user. Usually by the time someone reports them, the damage is done.
It's tough, because what's typically happening is they aren't changing anything. They're using the legit user's login and password. Doing that, they don't even have to try and change the email address. What we do when we spot one is ban the account with note that it's compromised so the actual owner can contact us and we can verify who they are and get the account back in the right hands. By that time though, the scammer is usually long gone with multiple users' money.
But in all seriousness, the 100% guaranteed way to not get screwed is don't send people money via Zelle, cashapp, etc. If you don't personally know them and are 100% sure who it is, no potential "deal" you think you're getting is worth the screwing you're about to wear home.

I’d put my two cents in this, but V covered it all.
Don't feel bad, they almost got me once, after confirming the meet and location, it should have been a red flag, but the deal was too good, and I took the bait. After landing in Mozambique, I Canoed up the Zambezi River for six days thru Botswana into Angola, after fighting off a band of cannibals and burning down their Village and killing half before they fled into the bush (see, this is why I carry extra mags to a meet) I arrived a day late, the member who posted was not there, after torturing a local who confirmed it was a scam, I gathered he thought I wasn't serious and had Ghosted me, and before he died the local also confessed that it was a setup and the guy was just going to take my money and promise to ship me the item later with FedEx, I'm still thinking about giving him bad feedback, but I'm sure a Mod would just reverse it, so that would be a waste of my time, but at least he didn't get my $9.95 plus the $2000.00 shipping, so I'm cool with it. You just have to be really careful on here
