Finally landed my unicorn

Over the years I have owned a disturbing number of AR15s. I have owned Bushmasters, CMMGs, Daniel Defense, Noveske, LWRC, Ruger, DoubleStar, Smith & Wesson, Rock River, etc.


I have also owned many Colts. SP1s, SP1 Carbines, SP2s, 6601s, 6940, 6721, 6520, 6420, etc. I have not however owned a 6920. I have set off to get one many times, many many times, but I always end up finding a deal on something else, and my unicorn always seems to slip away.


Well, this week I have been working a trade with a guy in New York and I just got the ship notice from a distributor in Illinois for a brand spanking new Colt LE6920.


I feel kinda stupid getting so excited over a rifle that so many people have, and that they sell at Walmart, but this has been my unicorn since the AWB expired in 2004.

The guy at Walmart wasn't interested in trading for my preban Colt. The guy in New York jumped all over it. I'm trading a Preban R6601 Match HBAR. It's a 20" A2

Yep clear as mud! I have the 6720, same rifle, lighter profile barrel. Its the staple of american military.
