Watching the video, i think he could have used physical combat (Strike to the groin, face, etc) before drawing and walking around with pistol in hand. But then again you dont know if the other guy had a weapon. Either way, i dont think it was very tactical to walk around with gun drawn and do one handed push offs. When he shoots, the clerk is right there behind the target. What do you guys think about this video and how it was handled? I always glean from these videos and think...what would i do?

Not knowing what was said and/or if the other guy was armed I'm at a disadvantage to know what was in the instructors mind. That said your firearm is your trump card. Like the commentator said a good skill set with empty hand control goes along way.

Unarmed per the article. although the instructor would not know if he did have anything concealed

Brings to my mind the benefit of carrying non lethal items in your edc set up such as pepper blaster or the like.

Several options with this train of thought and a valid point, but shy of maybe a small impact weapon on a key chain or the like, I think most folks don't like being weighed down in their every day walks of life. My instance is different, but off duty I rarely carry less lethal (other than my appendages).

Once the bad guy left the store I would not have pursued. I'm guessing the shooter wanted to get his license plate or something.

Bad guy was definitely not right in the head.

Store owner VERY lucky the round didn't go through the bad guy!
