I let my NRA Pistol credentials expire a few years ago. Wondering if the alternatives are worth considering?

More importantly is there a liability insurance plan that’s offered for little money?

"Little money" depends upon your connotation of what "little money" is. In my opinion, the FTA plan is the best option. I previously had a plan from Lockton (NRA endorsed), and I am much happier with FTA for the same upfront money but with better service.
As for instructor certification options, I have no first-hand experience with the USCCA. I do have a few NRA certifications that I don't use. I develop my own content.

It’s been a while and you might correct me but NRA had a basic plan for $80-90/year at some point. Not sure what it’s now.

I mostly kept my credentials to take my day job foreign business visitors to the range. It offers some protections.

For what they are, NRA certification seems better tailored to range marksmanship. I’ll check FTA. Thanks 👍
