Firecrackers, etc, what did YOU do with em as a kid???

Back in the 60s in high school we had a math teacher that went to the bathroom at the same time every time and he would use the Corner stall well we would come in there and take a cherry bomb wait until he got good started and then roll at Cherry bomb under a stall he had no problems pooping.
Same time frame, we had kids would flush a cherry bomb from the boy’s bathroom on the third floor.
Once, one didn’t go down, turned the bowl into porcelain shrapnel.
Another time, one went off and blew out a portion of the old cast iron sewer pipe and part of the wall in the bathroom below.
When they started questioning, we were all like….

I remember the M80s and cherry bombs we had in the 60s were really powerful and could hurt you pretty bad. Anyone remember what year they made them “childproof”?

Those little lady finger firecrackers fit in the hands of the little GI Joe's like a stick of dynamite.

Then we knew where we could get the occasional artillery simulator. Those were pretty potent.

yep we had to walk to Gwinnett to get fireworks then in the late 60s Ft Bragg was supplying simulators and illuminators by some guys stationed there. C4 and dynamite rounded out our forays into explosives

I guess I was about 16.

Used an Estes model rocket battery powered solar igniter rigged up to bottle rockets mounted on my outside rearview mirror.

Felt like James Bond...
