First 1911 HELP!!

As I understand it, the Taurus is not a true 1911. Standard 1911 grips don't even fit them - I believe the bushings are aligned differently or something? Check out http://forums.1911forum.com/

Not true. The reason standard grips don't fit is the ambi safety. It is in fact made of the same 1911 blueprint as the rest of them. just the thumb safety will make a grip not fit. just requires a little trimming on the top of the grip for clearing the safety. I speak from experience I've had for pt1911's they were all fantastic no issues. Just when the trade bug bites things get traded. I always find my self coming back to the pt1911's.
