I cut out drinking for 3 months about 2½ years ago. I lost 20lbs without doing anything else at all. I replaced it with sweet tea in the beginning, but then realized that all the sugar was as bad as the beer, weight wise. Interestingly, I have a sweet tooth when I am not drinking but not at all when I am drinking.

In the beginning, it was tough finding ways to fill my time, but I soon started doing things I hadn't done much of in years, hiking, fishing, etc.
I cut out alcohol then because I felt it was taking to much precedence in my life, I was going down a path I didn't like. It's a good thing sometimes to take a break and hit the old reboot button.

all of that is life... even the chocolate chip pizza.
