First Deer in 17 Years!

I shot my first deer 17 years ago on my Great Uncle's Farm in Indiana. This morning I got my 2nd deer! I would've rather had the 8-pointer I saw earlier, but I couldn't get a clean shot on him. But I'm not complaining. I'm happier than a pig in slop with this nice doe. Besides, that buck's not off the hook yet. I'll be gunning for him for the rest of the season.

I took her at about 20 yards with a slug from my venerable Mossberg 500. Between ducks, dove, and the doe, that thing has put a lot of meat on the table in the past year.

Thanks guys. I've had the Mossy just over a year. Bought it right before duck season last year for $227 at Wal-Mart. I'd rather be using my Marlin, but the guy whose farm I hunt says archery or shotgun only, so shotgun it is. It does well enough.
