First Stock Refinish - Marlin 1894

There's an old saying about Oil Finish: 1 coat a day for a week, 1 coat a week for a month, 1 coat a month for a year, & 1 coat a year for life.
A lot of antique furniture have oil finishes. They can be revived using fresh oil and some 0000 steel wool rubbing with the grain to loosen up embedded dirt and them wipe and let dry.
Same with Mil-Surplus stocks.
 
Nice job for sure. really looks great.
I really enjoy refinishing stocks, and do quite a few for other people. It's nice to sit back and see the difference that you made in that firearm.
