Flashed weapon today, did I handle this correctly?

Thanks for the encouragement guys, but I truly didn't post this to "toot my own horn". I genuinely was second guessing what I had done. Like I said, I was taught to never flash or pull unless you are gonna use it. You guys have put those doubts to rest.

On a different note, those buildings that have a no weapons policy, I would like to share this story with them and rub their Damn noses in it and ask them what could of happened if I wasn't packing.

I personally don't buy into the whole "If you pull it, kill it" scenario; perhaps I'm just not in the know, but it seems reasonable to me that if you can "brandish" on your hip and get somebody to back off, then you win. If that doesn't work and you have to draw to low-ready (without shooting) and they back off at that time, again, a win as far as I'm concerned.

I think that you handled it well. 90% of Homie the Clowns are pure mouth anyways. They mainly get loud only to attract the other clowns attention. I usually call their bluff and they STFU and get further.

You did use it. As long as you were mentally ready to do what you had to do if they didn't back down, you did fine. Just be thankful you had it with you.

Agreed. Statistically most of the time the introduction of a firearm into a bad situation is enough to deter the B.G.'s.

"Predators" don't like/ prefer attacking other "predators".
I really like your use of the word, "reasonable" because that is a very important factor.

A civilian has to be very discretionary getting involved into other situations w/o seeming like they are escalating them.
It doesn't sound like the OP was looking for trouble & stated as much.
When the other two "gentlemen" showed signs of interest/ aggression not only was disparity of force now apparent but the "power curve" could have taken off in a bad direction very quickly.

One of the only suggestions I would make as inconvenient as it sounds would have been to call & report it to the police.

Otherwise one of them could have called them first & stated that you threatened them/ him w/ a gun thereby potentially making the OP the B.G. or at least putting you on the defensive since the OP didn't call & report it.
It happens quite often.
Much of the time (though not always) L.E. favors the first person to call 911.

Overall though well done. Way to keep a cool head.

Man holding the door open is borderline car jacking in progress, ...you created the diversion, she closed the door and left and you were able to walk away, ...job well done.

As a former popo for the former great State of GA, I can tell that you violated no state laws. You were in fear for your safety (3 against 1), so you were justified in your actions. I just wished that you were packing a Hi Point JHP 45 acp when the s--t went down........
