Don’t know if real or replica. I have had it for about 40 years or so. Looked at some past auctions on real ones and have showed sales from 400 to 1200 depending on condition

The blood groove on the blade is also a give away that it's authentic. Replicas don't have that as it's another machining pass.I think the key is the crest on the blade. The ones I have and sent pics have no blade crest.
I think you may have a gem!
good luck.
What he said. If you scored it way back in 77 it's probably the real deal. But there's tons of knockoffs of WW2 knives and almost all of them are of German/Nazi knives. There's anpther pattern of gravoty knife from that era that looks and works kinda like an OTF switchblade without a spring. Just hold it upside down and hit the side mounted button. That along with the one you have here and the fixed blade " Hitler Youth" knife are probably the most replicated.Looks like an original German gravity knife. Nice find.
Still cool though.Unfortunately, It’s a replica for the tourist market. I got taken to the cleaners on two of them. Worth about $20.

This one you have is probably the coolest of them. Intended to be easily opened with one hand so a paratrooper can cut himself out of a jam.
