So what's the story with the Albanian SKS? When I see them, they're usually a bit rough and the asking price is higher than a normal SKS. Also the stock is different?

The most rare of the sks's. There are some small detail differences like the longer handguard, different mag style. 2 compartments in the stock I think.

Besides a shorter barrel, what's advantage does reverse stretch have over a standard MP5?

I had an opportunity to buy one a few years ago for $700. Very nice condition, probably should have snagged it. I've only had one and it was an unconverted Yugo M59, pretty uncommon from what I hear. It was cool but it got traded off.
