I got the barrel from Akbuilder. Looks really good, just measured all the journals and id's of components. All good press fit tolerances. Gas port will have to be drilled. Scored a new Bulgarian plum set so it's lookin like I have to build a 74 before too long, lol

I still don’t have a 74 I suck at life. Thinking of an SBR Krink in 5.45.......and I’m talking parts kit, tax stamp, and Big dolla dolla bills yo

Lol, I enjoy my 74's, sweet shooters. I gotta add a 5.45 krink to the stable at some point. You right though big $$$. The 104u conversion looks to be the cheaper option, relatively speaking.

Russian AKS-74U or go home. Plenty of 90's kits floating around. But if you must, a 104UR will suffice .

Unfortunately, you fellas missed the boat on the R-guns 86 kits but If you do find one (86) expect to pay a premium.

For what 104ur's are selling for I would just buy a kit and a quality receiver w/ matching custom serial# and build it or have two rivers do the job. Getting a straight one from K-var is a gamble.

Ak-builder makes barrels as well as uao85 on the files or you can buy a CHF chopper from K-var and hope the trunnion journal is oversized.
