Found at Walmart (48 star) Old Glory

My wife found this sitting on top of a trash can at the Bremen Walmart today.
It’s got 48 stars, so that’s 1912-1958. It’s all sewn together and the stars are also sewn on.
Everything I can find leads me to believe it’s a real 1958 or older flag.
I’m thinking maybe it was a casket flag.
Y’all’s thoughts on the whole situation ?

Get a proper flag display case and a name plate. Either hang it yourself or give it to your local VFW/American Legion chapter.

It's unbelievable that it was sitting on a trash can. It doesn't surprise me that walmart would be so disrespectful to the flag. I would keep it, clean it up and put it in a glass covered display case.

Walmart didn’t put it there, “someone” put it there.

best advice you will get. VFW can look up the name of the Vet and help with the flag.
