Fresh Deer ripped open by Coyote

Just got a text from someone who shot a deer, waited a bit in the tree, and then as getting down from tree saw a coyote. Sure enough the coyote got to the deer first and tore open stomach and mid section of the deer.

Would anyone try and salvage any of the meat or is it a total loss? I dont think its worth the disease risk; but I have no experience.

As "DIRTY SAYS DO YOU FEEL LUCKY", IF YOTE has been on the carcass, our suggestion let it go not worth the possible exposure to the diseases they carry...

just a simple suggestion...

hunt over the carcass and kill any four legged thing that comes for it.

Had this happen twice. They always go for the butt and gut. Maybe wait for them to come back and kill them all.
