From pistol to AOW questions and arguments

Was browsing Youtube and came across this

So after watching/reading what this guy wrote, an AOW classification is basically for shotguns only, or is he just ignorant in his conclusion?

The pen gun is an aow. There are several other aow out there. Shotguns are just the most common

Well that's why I made this thread, the guy in the video seems to think otherwise. I haven't read the AOW rules personally but by what he is saying it has to be smooth bore to be classified as a AOW.

*Edit: Just read them, and basically the ruling is that adding a vertical foregrip to ANY "handgun" is assembly of a AOW. What the guy in the video is trying to accomplish is getting the Pap m92 reclassified as a "firearm" and not a handgun. This would be great for us owners, but i don't know how it will affect the import of the guns.
