FS/FT Enfield No.1 mark 3 / Ishapore Updated

Up for grabs is yet another oldie on the block. Unfortunately I know very little about this piece. I am sure some of you will help with some clarity when needed.

Classic enfield/Ishapore no.1 mk3 . Ill add more information and details as I get the rest listed.

Looks like an Ishapore to me, though the mark on the band looks a bit more simplistic than other examples I've seen. Do you have any more pics of the markings on the rifle?

Yes, Ishapore with 'Ashoka' buttsocket marking.

Very cool. I like the stamped sling swivels and blocky nose cap. Hard to believe they were still cranking these out in 1986 India.... !!! ???

Ishapore is the last bolt action rifle made for military use. Built on the British
Enfield style. Shoots a NATO 7.65 x 51 round. Great shooter....

This is a .303 rifle. The latest dated example Indian Ishapore I ever ran into was a 1988 example.
